Sometimes the hardest opposition does not come from people who openly reject God. Sometimes it comes from places where we expected to find understanding, encouragement and love. This prayer is for everyone who has said yes to God and is trying to faithfully carry what He has placed in their hands. 🤍
If you are building, creating, serving, speaking, teaching, praying or simply obeying God—and criticism, rejection or misunderstanding has made you question whether you should continue—remember who called you.
Jesus Himself was misunderstood and rejected. He warned His disciples that the servant is not greater than the Master. But He also taught us how to recognize what comes from Him:
By its fruit. By truth. And by love.
Not every criticism is an attack. Sometimes God corrects us through others, and we need the humility to listen. But we also need discernment not to mistake condemnation, pride, control or loveless religiosity for the voice of God.
Test the spirits. Examine the fruit. Receive what is from God. Release what is not. And most importantly, do not allow opposition to transform you into the very thing that wounded you.
Keep your heart clean.
Keep your eyes on Jesus.
Keep your lamp burning.
Keep your hands on the work.
Like Nehemiah, remember:
“I am doing a great work and I cannot come down.”
When every other voice becomes loud, return to one question:
Father, what did You tell me to do?
Then keep going. 🔥
