Song — I AM STILL YOURS

By Cristina Elias

I AM STILL YOURS

A Song About Faith That Remains, Fire That Grows, and a Heart That Keeps Saying Yes

There are seasons when faith is not expressed through visible victories, extraordinary breakthroughs, or immediate answers.

Sometimes faith is simply the decision to remain.

To remain when the answer has not arrived.

To remain when the work is unfinished.

To remain when the future is not yet visible.

And to discover that, throughout all those seasons, God has remained faithful.

“I Am Still Yours” is a song about that kind of faith.

Not a faith that depends on everything going according to plan, but a faith that becomes stronger through the very circumstances that could have weakened it.

The Ember That Never Went Out

The song begins with the image of an ember carried through difficult places.

An ember may appear small. It may not illuminate an entire room or reveal the way ahead. But it is still alive.

There are seasons when faith feels like that ember.

The promises are remembered, even when their fulfillment remains unseen. The questions are still present. The journey continues without a complete explanation.

Yet the presence of God has not disappeared.

“When the answer stayed hidden, You stayed close to me.”

This is one of the central truths of the song.

God's faithfulness is not measured by how quickly an answer arrives.

His presence is not dependent on how clearly the next step can be seen.

And waiting does not necessarily mean that nothing is happening.

Sometimes the deepest work is taking place in the heart that is learning to believe without demanding immediate certainty.

Still Standing. Still His.

The chorus is a declaration of belonging.

“I am still standing. I am still Yours.”

There is strength in those words, but there is also surrender.

The declaration is not that life has become effortless or that every struggle has disappeared.

It is that circumstances have not changed the One to whom the heart belongs.

The flame has become stronger.

The fractures have become windows through which light can enter.

And the decision to keep choosing life has become more intentional.

This is not about celebrating suffering for its own sake. It is about recognizing that even painful seasons do not have to become the final definition of a life.

In Jesus Christ, brokenness does not have to be the end of the story.

The Courage Not to Hurry

One of the most important lines in this song is also one of the quietest:

“I will not hurry the work of Your hands.”

There is a particular kind of courage required to wait without fear.

It is easier to confuse movement with progress, urgency with obedience, and personal ambition with divine direction.

But not every opportunity is an assignment.

Not every open door is one that must be entered.

Not everything that can be built is something God has called a person to build.

The song asks for a heart that is willing to be prepared before moving forward.

A heart that values God's presence more than the appearance of progress.

A heart that does not need to force what has not yet been established.

This is where faith becomes more than expectation.

It becomes trust.

When the Ground Gives Way, God Remains

The bridge carries a simple but powerful repetition: “You remain.”

When circumstances change, God remains.

When the night feels long, God remains.

When familiar foundations no longer provide security, God remains.

This echoes the truth of Hebrews 13:8: Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

The circumstances of life are not always stable. Human strength is not unlimited. Plans can change, and expectations can be disappointed.

But the character of Jesus Christ does not change with those circumstances.

This is why the song can move from uncertainty into declaration without pretending that every difficulty has already been resolved.

The foundation of faith is not the absence of difficulty.

It is the faithfulness of the One who remains.

Every Step Is Another Yes

Perhaps the deepest message of this song is found in the repeated decision to say yes.

Not only once.

Not only when faith feels strong.

Not only when the path is clear.

But again and again.

A yes to life.

A yes to God's timing.

A yes to the work of His hands.

A yes to following Jesus Christ even when the destination is not yet visible.

There is something profoundly beautiful about a life that continues to answer God through its choices.

Faith becomes visible not only in words, but in patience, obedience, integrity, courage, and perseverance.

Every breath becomes another opportunity.

Every step becomes another response.

My Heart Is Ready. My Hands Are Open.

The song ends without demanding a specific outcome.

Instead, it ends with readiness.

Open hands.

A willing heart.

And a desire to follow wherever God leads.

This is the movement of the entire song: from carrying an ember through uncertainty to standing with a stronger flame and a deeper willingness to trust.

The journey has not necessarily reached its final destination.

But the heart has changed along the way.

And perhaps that is one of the greatest transformations of all.

Not merely receiving what was hoped for, but becoming someone who can continue to trust God while waiting.

Still standing.

Still choosing life.

Still saying yes.

Still His.

🎸 I AM STILL YOURS is a Christian song about perseverance, surrender, spiritual growth, and the unchanging faithfulness of Jesus Christ.

May it encourage every heart walking through an unfinished season to remember that waiting does not erase belonging, and uncertainty does not cancel God's presence.

“Lead me where You go. I am still Yours.”
